Background

After attending Starfleet Academy Derek went to Starfleet Medical Academy where he earned a diploma of Doctor Of Medicine (If needed has diploma on file). After recieving Diploma and new rank of Ensign was assigned to USS Excelsior in the Medical Division. He first served as a Medical Assistant. Then he was moved up to Assistant Chief Medical Officer. He was called back to Earth for some work at Starfleet Medical. After about a year he returned to the Excelsior to find that his job was still open. He returned as ACMO. Then after 4 or 5 months had to return back to Earth. After 60 days he returned. The job of ACMO was taken by Ensign Marty so I was Medical Assistant. Then a new position was made. Surgeon. Because of my higher rank over Ensign Marty It was only suiting to give me a high position. Marty kept his ACMO position and I was in charge of all Surgerys onboard the Excelsior. To this day is Surgeon. Stardate: 9806.17
